This article is the work of guest blogger Felipe Diaz, a fine and enthusiastic young man from the great state of Wisconsin who is currently a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee studying Film Production and Marketing. Hot off the heels of his exciting viral YouTube video, Norwegian-born Harvard “Kickalicious”Rugland has agreed to a three-year offer from the Detroit Lions, reportedly worth nearly $1.5 million dollars. Sure his name reads like a New England-area carpet warehouse, but he has all the skills to be the next Sebastian Janikowski. Absolutely huge for a kicker, Rugland is listed at over 6-foot-2 and some 240 pounds, and if there is anything we know about soccer players, much like Janikowski, they are anything but afraid of a good scrum. Rugland, who also drew interest from the Browns and Jets, will be competing for the job with another lefty, long time Eagle’s kicker David Akers.. Rugland picked up booting the old pigskin just a few short years ago, but under the tutelage of former NFL kicker Michael Husted, he has certainly developed into an incredible prospect. Just check out his “Awesome Football Kicker” video, which has over 4 million views and is Globetrotter-level awesome.
