It’s been a long time coming for 2nd-year wideout Titus Young. After two years of immaturity and a lack of discipline from Young, the Lions coaching staff finally made the decision to bench him on Detroit’s upcoming Thanksgiving Day game against the 9-1 Houston Texans. The coaching staff now has a decision to make: work with Young and try to get his mind right, or cut the cord and see what rookie Ryan Broyles can do. Either way, we’ll see Broyles get his first NFL start this Thursday.  Mike Thomas will be the third wide receiver for the Lions, with Brian Robiske the likely #4. Also in line to make his first NFL start is OT Riley Reiff, who could fill in for an injured Jeff Backus at LT.  Backus left Sunday’s game against the Packers with a hamstring injury and wouldn’t have practiced today had the Lions done so. Regardless of who plays and who doesn’t on Thanksgiving, the coaching staff in Detroit has to get this team better by the end of the season.   Corrections: Also should have mentioned DT Corey Williams in the key injuries department, and Fairley played in the National championship two years ago in 2010.
