The Texans suffered their second loss of the season on Monday night, losing to the New England Patriots 42-14. This was their first loss on the road this season and brings their record to 11-2. They now only have a one game lead over the Patriots in the AFC and would lose the number one seed in the case of a tie-breaker. Positives: 46 Ben Tate looked more in pre-injury form rushing 8 times for 46 yards (5.8 ypc). This is the same number of yards Arian Foster had on 7 more carries. 100% The Texans scored touchdowns on both of their trips to the red zone. They struggled getting down there, but when they did, they scored each time. Negatives: 42 The Texans’ defense struggled on Monday night, allowing 42 points. This is the second time this year the Texans have allowed 42 points, and they have lost both of those games. 130 The Texans allowed the Patriots to rush for 130 yards. The Patriots are very hard to stop when they are successful running the ball because their passing game is so good. This showed on Monday as the Texans allowed rushing yards and big pass plays. 0 The Texans forced two fumbles near their end zone, but failed to recover either of them. The Patriots ended up scoring touchdowns on both of these drives. Recovering both of these fumbles could have greatly changed the momentum of the game.
