DAVIE, Fla. -- It's got as much a chance of happening as no-nonsense Joe Philbin performing a vaudeville skit. But at least it's fun that Mike Wallace is still talking about having a 2,000-yard receiving season. In 2011, when the wideout was with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he told the Beaver County Times about the upcoming season, "I have big goals. I plan to get 2,000 yards." Wallace at least was coming off a year in which he had gained 1,257 yards. He then didn't come close to his goal, although he had a quite respectable 1,193 yards. Now, Wallace is coming of an 836-yard season and is with a new team. But he's still talking about reaching the double-century mark. "Yeah, I still feel that way," Wallace told FOX Sports Florida about getting there in his first season with the Miami Dolphins, who signed him to a five-year, 60 million deal last spring. "I believe in my abilities. If I get enough opportunities, I think I can make 2,000 happen...

Dustin Keller is poised for a breakout season

When the Miami Dolphins revamped their roster this offseason, one name that was seemingly forgotten until now is Dustin Keller. State of the Dolphins: Who’s winning the camp battles?

The Miami Dolphins are just about halfway through the preseason.  So we thought it would be a good time to take a look at where the Dolphins position battles stand just 26 days before the team heads to Cleveland for the season opener.   The Dolphins have a number of position battles taking place, including a number of starting positions.  Injuries have certainly played a part...

Dolphins return to practice Sunday, but without Dion Jordan

The Miami Dolphins returned to the practice field on Sunday, following their 27-3 victory on Friday night against the Jaguars.  The focus of the practice was on fundamentals, so there were no 11 on 11 drills as is customary.  According to the Sun Sentinel, Joe Philbin said:  “I thought that we had a really good practice today. We decided to change up the practice schedule a...

Dolphins Camp Roundup: John Jerry returns to practice, Dion Jordan does not

The Miami Dolphins returned to the practice field Wednesday morning, following their off day yesterday.  Surprisingly, the Dolphins were in jersey and shorts, but no pads.  I say it’s surprising because the team worked on fundamentals on Sunday, so 2 of the last 3 days have been largely non-tackling practices.  This for a team that has had its issues with missed tackles early...

1972 Dolphins finally get their trip to the White House

There is still only one resident of ‘Perfectville’ in the NFL, the 1972 Miami Dolphins.  However, that perfect team, the only perfect team ever in NFL history, never got their trip to the White House to visit the president.  Did you know that?  I didn’t.  I wasn’t around when the Dolphins had their perfect season and won back to back Lombardi trophies.  However, I still...
