Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill is having an MRI Monday, a day after leaving the game against the New York Jets with a hyperextended left knee and deep thigh bruise. Tannehill exited in the first quarter of Sunday's 30-9 victory after twisting the knee while getting sacked by Calvin Pace. He had an X-ray after the game. Matt Moore filled in for Tannehill the remainder of the contest. The rookie said he could have returned if it were an emergency and that he hopes to play this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. "I was optimistic about getting back in the game, and I'm optimistic about getting ready to go next week," Tannehill told The Palm Beach Post. "I could've gone if it was an emergency situation. (I) was trying to get it loose so I could be good to go, (but) we were up big and Matt was doing a good job." Trainers put a brace on Tannehill's knee and he jogged around the Dolphins' sideline to warm it back up. However, he hobbled too much and trainers were unconvinced he could return to action. "I'm going to do what I can to get it ready to go, get that swelling out of there," Tannehill said.
