Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa does this better than anyone

After balling out in Week 1 with his best performance as a pro, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has now broken the concentration of every defensive coordinator who will face him this season.

"Bro, Tua is a baller. I’ve been saying it since last year," Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill said, as per ClutchPoints.com's Steve Silverman.

Hill, who had a day himself with 215 receiving yards and could be on his way to breaking records, credited Tagovailoa with understanding the situation and knowing what needed to be done.

"Even during halftime, he was able to come in, get guys going a little bit and even on the sideline with me he’s like, ‘Hey Cheetah, let’s get it, baby.’ Big-time moment, big-time players make big-time plays," Hill said, as per dolphinnation.com's Peter Dewey.

Tagovailoa did more than just make a huge statement in the Dolphins come-from-behind win on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers. He showcased a skillset that separates him from contemporaries, and it appeared as if Tagovailoa knew it.

There were a few sideline camera shots of Tagovailoa moments after Chargers QB Justin Herbert led a scoring drive. Something seemed different about Tagovailoa compared to prior years. The fourth-year pro shook his head in acknowledgement with an intrepid smile on his face. He knew that it was his time to retort.

Tagovailoa sure did respond in the game and silenced, for now, the doubters, naysayers and knee-jerk pundits. He looked like he had some genuine fun doing it, while striking down the Chargers defense with a QB quality not seen in any NFL since former Dolphins star and Hall of Famer Dan Marino.

Tagovailoa throws a deadly accurate ball with the quickest release in the entire league. There is no QB in the league that does it better. In fact, Tagovailoa could give Clint Eastwood's Blondie the business in an old-fashioned gunslinger shootout — except Tagovailoa would make it look pretty.

"He’s got a quick release, he’s smart, accurate, real aggressive, a good athlete," former QB Phil Simms said, as per USA Today. "It’s the ‘Greatest Show on Grass’ right now … Weapons everywhere. Tua is like a point guard out there."

Pre-snap, the Dolphins put Hill in motion so that Tagovailoa can read whether the defense is in man or zone. Once the ball gets into his left hand, his fingertips barely touch the laces before he unleashes a dart downfield into an opening the size of a eardrum.

The rest of the NFL needs to hear Tagovailoa loud and clear. The Dolphins QB thinks fast, plays fast and opposing teams need to act fast to figure out a way to stop him. If there is one.
