Via News beat writer John Niyo's Twitter feed, we learned the Detroit Lions released WR John Standeford. Standeford played in all of 2 games, catching 1 pass for 5 yards. At least he didn't get a goose egg in his latest go round in Detroit. Replacing Standeford on the 53 man roster was DT Joe Cohen, who was signed from the practice squad. Why is the roster shuffling of career backups even remotely significant? The waiving of a wide out means Calvin Johnson is ready to play against the Seahawks. You may now resume your regularly scheduled Saturday night.
