How much do the Dallas Cowboys value starting quarterback Tony Romo?
Apparently enough to make him the highest-paid player in franchise history.
Romo will reportedly receive a six-year extension worth $108 million, per ESPN’s Adam Shefter.
Included in the 6-2, 230-pound quarterback’s contract extension is $55 million in guaranteed money—the second-most guaranteed money in NFL history—surpassing the $51 million that Baltimore Ravens QB and Super Bowl XLVII MVP Joe Flacco just got in guaranteed money and tying the $55 million that New Orleans Saints star signal-caller Drew Brees received last July.
The guy with the most guaranteed money in NFL history goes by the name of Tom Brady (57 million).

Former Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings quarterback Donovan McNabb couldn’t contain his amazement when he heard the news of Romo’s contract extension.
“Wow really, with one playoff win,” McNabb wrote via Twitter. “You got to be kidding me.”
