The last we heard from Donovan McNabb was about last October when he was being benched by the Vikings in favor of Christian Ponder, after beginning the season 1-5 as a starter. Suffice to say, McNabb’s tenure in Philadelphia was significantly more successful. However, during his stay in the City of Brotherly Love, McNabb wasn’t exactly loved their either, despite making it to two NFC championship games. In fact, that might be an understatement, as McNabb was derided for much of his time with the Eagles despite his success on the field. Well, in the wake of the Eagles’ last two (very disappointing) seasons with Michael Vick at the helm, McNabb may be taking an opportunity to throw a shot Philly’s way in the form of sticking up for similarly maligned coach Andy Reid. “You look at everything he’s been able to accomplish, I think it outweighs what you’ve seen the last two years,” said McNabb as an analyst for Comcast SportsNet, according to ESPN. “Making it to the NFC Championship is not easy, and I think they’re starting to see that right now, that getting to the playoffs and going to the NFC Championship consistently, it’s just not that easy.” Being that McNabb was demoted to a third-string quarterback in his final weeks with the Eagles, maybe he’s a little bitter at the organization. Maybe he’s a little bitter at the fans who treated him poorly. However, one thing’s for sure: The only person McNabb absolutely isn’t bitter at is Reid.
