TEAMS: Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, New York Giants, New England Patriots, New York Jets, San Diego Chargers
It’s never too early to predict next year’s Super Bowl champion, and controversy is already brewing over the topic. On Monday morning, less than 12 hours after the New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI, a couple of NFL analysts on ESPN’s SportsCenter were asked which non-playoff team has the best chance to win the Super Bowl next year. Tim Hasselbeck picked the Dallas Cowboys.
“Lot of talent on that football team,” Hasselbeck said. “Miles Austin not injured. Defense, another year with Rob Ryan. I think the Cowboys could be that team. … Dallas Cowboys. Tony Romo. They have the best shot.”
The defense the Cowboys have right now could spend a decade with Ryan and not get anywhere. That’s not a knock on the unit as a whole; linebacker Sean Lee will win multiple Defensive Player of the Year awards in his career. However, the Cowboys’ secondary and defensive line is awful.

Cowboys need to trade Felix Jones
The Dallas Cowboys may want to think about trading running back Felix Jones. I’m not sure what they could get in exchange for the former first round pick, but he’s too fragile and they could easily replace him with DeMarco Murray and another running back from the draft or free agency.
Jones will be entering the final year of his current contract next season and I don...
Dallas Cowboys: 5 Players to Re-Sign Before 2012 NFL Draft
For the Cowboys to actually have a shot at playing in Super Bowl XLVII as Tim Hasselbeck recently predicted, Dallas must make some serious personnel moves first. There are five players the Cowboys must cut before the team moves on to a bigger task: re-signing five key free agents that are critical to Dallas’ success going forward.

The Sporting Rave Network sponsoring petition for Forever the Sickest Kids
Every year it seems like Jerry Jones puts out a sham act for the halftime show on Thanksgiving Day for the Dallas Cowboys, so I think it’s time for a change. I asked Jonathan Cook, lead singer of Dallas-based pop punk band Forever the Sickest Kids, if he would be down with promoting an online [...]
Oddsmakers expect Cowboys to be fair to middling
The Cowboys are close to the middle of the pack when it comes to odds to win Super Bowl 2013, according to MGM Grand’s sports book in Las Vegas.
The Cowboys are placed as 20-1 odds, with 13 teams ahead of them and well behind early favorite New England at 5-1.
The Patriots lost 21-17 to the Giants on Sunday in the Super Bowl. Even as defending Super Bowl champions, the Giants come...

Count Tiger Woods among those impressed with Tony Romo's ability to get the ball in play -- and not just on a football field, either.
