According to ProFootballTalk,Ā Drayton FlorenceĀ is taking first-team reps in practice with the Lions, only three days after getting the boot from the Broncos.
Dave Birkett of theĀ Detroit Free-Press, is reporting FlorenceĀ filled in at right cornerĀ forĀ Chris Houston, who is still recovering from a sprained ankle.
āI was shocked, but heās out there making calls,ā linebackerĀ Justin DurantĀ said, via Birkett. āHeās been playing a long time, he knows what heās doing. Ā Iāve got confidence in him. Ā Everybody here knows who he is so once he gets our terminology down I know heās going to be good.ā
āHeās a veteran player,ā coach Jim Schwartz said. āHeās played inside, heās played outside. Heās got a lot of experience. Ā Can play press. Ā Heās got some multi-dimensional skills that we like and like I said heās very experienced. Ā He didnāt make it at Denver, but he had a good career before that and we look forward to having him contribute for us.ā
