Having experienced Hurricane Katrina, Drew Brees knows all too well how a storm of that magnitude can affect those unfortunately caught in its path.
And, just as he did after Katrina, the Saints' superstar quarterback is lending a helping hand.
According to the Associated Press, Brees is donating $1 million to Superstorm Sandy relief efforts. In a CBS interview scheduled to air Friday, Brees said the donation will come via the Dream Foundation, which he runs with his wife, Brittany.
Although he did not say who'll be receiving the Sandy contribution, Brees added that his foundation will also be chipping in $2 million to several New Orleans organizations in the months ahead.
