According to Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the chances of New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees signing a new deal before they begin their OTA’s on May 22nd are “practically zero.”
Triplett believes that both sides may wait until the final hour of July 16th, which is the final day franchised players can sign a new deal before they’re forced to play out the season under the tag.
By having a stand-off with Brees, the Saints are only hurting themselves by not having the biggest leader on their team present during their offseason program. Also, by not being willing to give him whatever amount of money he wants is ridiculous after how much he’s done for the Saints and the city of New Orleans.

Interim coach Joe Vitt and the rest of the coaching staff met with reporters Monday following the team's rookie minicamp, during which 64 newcomers practiced five times...

The NFL players' union will have its grievance against the league in the Saints bounties case heard Wednesday by arbitrator Shyam Das.
The union claims NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell doesn't have the authority to hand out discipline for player conduct that occurred before the current collective bargaining agreement was finalized last August. The players argue that a CBA...

In February of 2010, the Saints were on top of the world as Super Bowl Champions. However, like every reigning Super Bowl Champion before them since the 2003 New England Patriots, the Saints failed to win a playoff game, losing in embarrassing fashion to the Seattle Seahawks, a team that somehow qualified… (read more)
