Peter King of SI.com asked New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees about the player’s attitude towards NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. He certainly didn’t hold back what’s on his heart and mind.
“Nobody trusts him. Nobody trusts him. I’m not talking about a DUI, or using a gun in a strip club, which are pretty clear violations,” Brees told King. ”I think there’re too many times where the league has come to its decision in a case before calling a guy in, and the interview is just a façade. I think now if a guy has to come in to talk to Roger, he’ll be very hesitant because he’ll think the conclusion has already been reached.”
It’s unfortunate that the players don’t trust Goodell, but they did agree to this CBA, which gives him all of the power he has. I know they didn’t have much of a choice, but they could have held out longer and called the owners’ bluff.

Drew Brees offseason contract dispute with the Saints hasn't dampened his desire to be a good teammate, or to take care of his team's fans who have been braving the heat and rain to come out to Saints training camp. On Saturday fans were treated to free Plum Street Snoballs as Brees had arranged for a truck to come to practice. "It was funny because a few days before...
Never afraid to sound off on just about anything, free agent TE Jeremy Shockey took to Twitter to take the NFL commissioner to task on player health concerns.
As the issue of concussions and head injuries in the NFL becomes more prevalent, so too do the discussions about it on Twitter. On Sunday night, Jeremy Shockey decided to get in on the act by preaching about the negative effects playing football has on the health of players.
He is not the first player to do this and won’t be the last, but what was particularly interesting about...
Marques Clark stopped playing organized football when his eligibility with Division II Henderson State ran out in 2006. Drew Brees helped him get his first shot in the NFL this month.
It just so happens that Brees does offseason throwing at a San Diego-area high school where Clark got a job about two years ago as a wide receivers coach. Brees noticed Clark working out there and...
Peter King of SI.com told Rich Eisen of the NFL Network via NFL.com, that San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Randy Moss that there’s no doubt Randy Moss has plenty of talent left.
“When I saw Randy Moss come off the line of scrimmage and fake Perrish Cox so severely that Cox slipped and Randy Moss ran across the middle and caught a beautiful crossing throw,” King...

Late Sunday night, free agent tight end Jeremy Shockey tweeted a link to LZ Granderson’s moving piece about Junior Seau. Presumably having read the piece, Shockey then proceeded to give his reaction to it.
Shockey starts off his series of tweets by first tweeting, “its sad but the truth!!” Then, he turns his attention to the NFL’s and Roger Goodell’s handling of the concussion...
According to Peter King of SI.com, rookie quarterback Russell Wilson is still in the race to become the Seattle Seahawks starting quarterback this season.
It doesn’t surprise me that Wilson is still in the mix, since both Tarvaris Jackson and Matt Flynn haven’t been very impressive.
