Yesterday, the Lions tendered a bunch of guys, but we don't completely know about everyone. One of those people were Drew Stanton, who got an original round tender by the Detroit Lions according to Tim Twentymen of DetNews. This means that if a team were to sign Stanton, they would have to give their second round pick to the Lions as Stanton was originally a second round pick.
The key here is that the Lions tendered him with an "Original Round Tender" and not a second round tender. In either case, Lions would have received the same compensation in return for Stanton if he signed with some other team, but the Lions would have to pay him about 700K more with the second round tender.
