Through four games seven players on the Bengals defense have recorded or shared in a quarterback sack. One of those players though is not Carlos Dunlap. After leading the team and setting the club’s rookie sack record with 9½, Dunlap has been shutout through the first four games. He does however lead the team in quarterback pressures with eight. “Once you get one usually you get on a roll. Right now though the first one is the toughest,” Dunlap said. “I’m getting quarterback hits and pressures. Eventually they are going to turn into sacks.” According to Enquirer reviews of the television broadcasts of the first four games, Dunlap has been in for 125 of the 251 defensive snaps. He saw his most extensive action in last week’s win over Buffalo, playing 38 of 56 plays. Last year Dunlap got 8½ sacks over the final six games.
