Over at Bleacher Report, Nate Dunlevy recapitulated the Colts' win over the Browns with his observations and even some highlight videos.  Nate saw it the way many fans familiar with the team saw it: Following a similar formula to previous encounters with the Vikings and Jaguars, the Colts jumped out to a comfortable halftime lead, and then hung on for dear life. With just under seven minutes to play in the game, Brandon Weeden found a wide-open Josh Gordon for what would have been the go-ahead pass, but the potential 41-yard touchdown was flat dropped, preserving the Indianapolis lead. The Colts won Sunday with their defense, Luck, and a little bit of actual luck.  Oh, and there was the running game.  Click and read.  Dunlevy doesn't disappoint.      @MarcusDugan

Weeden on Pace to Break All Club Rookie Passing Marks

At age 29, Brandon Weeden isn’t your normal NFL rookie quarterback. This also isn’t your grandfather’s NFL. When Weeden started week one, he became the first Browns rookie quarterback to do so. It would make sense that in the pass happy NFL of today, Weeden is on pace to break all kinds of Cleveland rookie passing marks. “In his second career start, rookie quarterback Brandon...

Browns knew what they were doing with Josh Gordon pick

Credit the Browns with taking the risk in the supplementary draft sticking their neck out for a problematic player like Josh Gordon. No one ever questioned his physical ability on the football field, it was the luggage that he brings with the off the field issues. After seven weeks in the 2012 year, the Browns look to have an exciting core of offensive players after extensive criticism...

Josh Gordon Reels in Another TD Week 7

Browns rookie wide receiver Josh Gordon came down with another touchdown on Sunday, his fourth in his last three games.Fantasy Spin:Gordon only caught two of the 10 passes Brandon Weeden threw to him and finished with 59 yards, way down from the 99 he racked up a week earlier against Cincinnati. Still, his knack for scoring touchdowns and Cleveland's complete lack of other options...

The Brandon Weeden & Pat Shumur Show Continues To Fail The Browns Fans As Cleveland Moves to 1-6

The Cleveland Browns just lost their 6th game on the season, the team is now 1-6 with the Pat Shumur & Brandon Weeden combination. The Browns just lost their 11th game in a row on the road. The Shumur, Weeden experiment is not working. It is time for the Browns to make a move. Since Brandon Weeden has the arm the fans seem to love, the logical move at this time would be to fire...

Colts Best Browns 17-13

The Browns ground game went nowhere, and Josh Gordon inexplicably dropped a touchdown pass in the end zone.

Colts-Browns Instant Reaction - Full Recap to Come

Colts 17 Browns 13 Photo credit: Indianapolis Colts' Instagram Account 1st Half The Colts and Browns traded long drives in the first half, with the Browns answering Luck’s brilliant touchdown run with a long drive and a Brandon Weeden TD pass.  Cleveland missed the extra point.  The Colts fired back with a 14 play 76 yard touchdown drive.  14-6, Colts at the half. ...

Browns Lose….But Weeden Improves

Lost in all of the Pat Shurmur play-calling bashing, questions about the health of Trent Richardson, the special teams disaster, the extra point gaff by Reggie Hodges, and of course the big drop by Josh Gordon was the stellar play of rookie QB Brandon Weeden. Remember back after the 17-16 season-opening loss to Philadelphia, half of the city was already done with Weeden? The Colt...

Upon Further Review: Colts

The Browns 17-13 loss to Indianpolis last Sunday does not entirely rest on Josh Gordon's fingertips. Sorry, he's not the scapegoat many have portrayed him to be.

Indystar Colts Insider: A few big plays the difference in Indy's win over Browns

The Indianapolis Star's Mike Chappell, on the ball as usual, says the difference in this game came down to a few big plays.  The Colts struggled (I've almost reached some kind of overuse threshold on that word this season) for long stretches in this game.  However, they kept coming up with one more big play to keep their hopes alive against the feisty Browns.  Chappell...

Bruce Arians claims responsibility for weird timeout

Bruce Arians appeared to be trolling the Browns when he called timeout with one second left in the first half. Arians had an explanation, but after hearing it, I still don’t really understand the logic. “I don’t have the button to our special teams coach, so I was trying to run down and catch him to call timeout with four seconds left to make them kick the ball and just try...

Cleveland Browns Game 7: Winner and Losers

Who caught your eye? Did someone stand out? Who blew it? That’s what were interested in this morning. Winners and losers. So, 10-6 now? As I mentioned in our game preview podcast, teams that are young tend to be inconsistent. Road game after a big win? Sounds like potential for a letdown. Still, this team was right there with a shot. LOSER: Josh Gordon. I wonder, if the Browns...

Browns Survey Results: 85% predicted Browns victory

Well, it was a thoroughly depressing week of football for the Cleveland Browns, and it was exasperated by expectations after Browns fans tasted victory for the first time. It was a disappointment as Browns fans collectively predicted a 27-21 victory for the good guys. As it turned out it was 17-13 and a bit of an ugh-fest. Here are all your predictions. The offensive line didn...
