With their season essentially over already, the Chiefs could be on the verge of blowing things up completely by dealing away their best wide receiver, Dwayne Bowe, in an attempt to cut their losses and gain a valuable draft pick or player back in return. One team that would seemingly be a great fit for Bowe is the Dolphins, given that Miami is his hometown, and their need for help at receiver going forward. That said, discussions between the Chiefs and Dolphins in regard to Bowe are not currently underway, according to Palm Beach Post beat writer Ben Volin. The growing sentiment around the league is that Bowe would love to get away from the Chiefs as soon as possible, and while a mid-season trade may not be in the cards when things are all said and done, there’s little doubt that Kansas City will be forced to deal him sooner or later, as a second consecutive franchise tag may not be in the best interest of the team long term, unless they can send Bowe elsewhere in the process. Once considered to be dark horse contender for a post-season run, the Chiefs have become a laughing stock throughout the league in the early going this season, winning just one game while losing five, and embarrassing themselves mightily in the process. Bowe, 28, has proven himself to be a top flight receiving option in recent years, posting back to back seasons with 1,000+ receiving yards and 70+ receptions.
