Found June 20, 2012 on Pro Sports Daily:
The Eagles found needed veteran depth at safety on Wednesday, finalizing a one-year contract with veteran O.J. Atogwe. The former Rams and Redskins safety, released by Washington after the 2011 season in which he was demoted, joins the Eagles as a versatile backup who can step in if projected starters Nate Allen and Kurt Coleman don't hold up. Both were demoted at points in the '11 season and Jaiquawn Jarrett was often a liability when he was on the field. Atogwe had 22 interceptions and 16 forced fumbles in six seasons with the Rams but started only seven games with the Redskins because of a persistent hamstring injury. He was eventually replaced in the lineup. The Eagles had pursued former Dolphins' safety Yeremiah Bell, who signed a deal similar to what the Eagles offered with the Jets.

The player texted ESPN radio’s Chris Russell...

Why Juan Castillo Will Drastically Improve the Eagles Defense in 2012

Why will Juan Castillo drastically improve the Philadelphia Eagles defense in 2012?  Through hard work man, hard work. Photo: gcobb.com Though I’m somewhat kidding, it’s partly true.  Juan Castillo is, if anything, a hard working man.  You could see he’s a hard worker when he picked up DeMeco Ryans at the airport, carted his bags and threw rose pedals on the ground as he...

Atogwe Helps Eagles Shore Up Weak Safety Position

I have undoubtedly heaped a lot of praise on the Philadelphia Eagles recently. It’s actually very out of character for me, whether you realize it or not. Their solid offseason and organizational changes in philosophy are things that I have chronicled well for you. There was only one thing that kept sticking in my crawl. The one weakness that the Eagles seemed to overlook this offseason...

The 10 Most Painful Losses in Philadelphia Eagles’ Franchise History

Chris Graythen/Getty Images Historically the Philadelphia Eagles haven’t been one of the NFL’s glamour franchises.  Eagles fans know pain well, having watched NFC East foes win 12 Super Bowls, including five out of six from 1990-95. A lot of the pain has come from watching rivals win those championships and a lot of it has come from just being a bad football team for long stretches...

Cam Newton Versus Michael Vick Face/Off Poll Results

The results came pouring in for our third fantasy football face/off poll and I’m sure it shall be no surprise to hear that it was our very own Andrew Nordmeier winning the checkered flag with his Cam Newton opus which you can read here.  I mean, why would you be surprised, Andrew writes for us, ya know?  Taking in 67% of the vote, Andrew left Mark Lee crest-fallen when his loving...

The Philadelphia Eagles claimed defensive end Monte Taylor off of waivers from the Seahawks on Monday. Taylor (6-5, 266) was signed after the draft as a free agent  by Seattle. He registered 24 total tackles as a Bearcat, six tackles for loss...

Philadelphia Eagles safety battle heats up with Atogwe signing

Safety Oshiomogho (O.J.) Atogwe signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles and knows that he will need to hit the ground running in order to get up to speed on learning the team’s defense without the benefit of OTAs and minicamp, all of which have passed. But it’s a challenge he’s ready to face. “I’ve been fortunate in my career to be able to pick up defenses quickly...
