One by one, the Eagles' starting defensive line has been picked off by injuries, and all four of them watched Thursday's practice, including defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins, who injured his hamstring Wednesday.

"We have our defensive line meetings in the training room," Jenkins joked Thursday.

Jenkins said the injury is mild and the "tweak" would likely only sideline him for a few practices. Cole (AC joint swelling) could return by the weekend. Babin has a torn calf muscle and is unlikely to practice until the team breaks camp and returns to Philadelphia from Bethlehem, Pa.

Rookie Fletcher Cox, the Eagles' first round pick, is standing out on the field with Jenkins and defensive ends Jason Babin and Trent Cole nursing injuries. He could be moving ahead of Mike Patterson, who isn't practicing while on the non-football injury list.

"He has shown a lot of potential," Jenkins said. "He's one heck of a player."

Patterson was ruled out for training camp on July 22 and could miss more time. The area of his cranium that was operated on by a neurosurgeon in January isn't fully healed. Training camp ends Aug. 14 and the Eagles have said Patterson could miss more time.
