I honestly don't know what to make of this story. The Eagles, who already have Donovan McNabb and his heir apparent Kevin Kolb at quarterback, have reportedly been in contact with the Green Bay Packers about the availability of Brett Favre, according to ESPN and Sporting News. Apparently, the Packers called the Eagles to see if they had any interest in trading for the possibly unretired quarterback. There is no word on whether the Eagles actually want Favre, but it's hard to see what his role would be in Philly. Obviously, Favre would be an excellent fit because he knows the West Coast offense, but where would he fit in on the depth chart? He would be great insurance if/when McNabb gets injured, but until that happens he would ride the bench, something he didn't want to do for the Packers. And, where would this leave the development of Kolb, who would see his growth stunted by having two star quarterbacks playing ahead of him? Click the link for more of my take on ...
