Cal Linebacker Mychal Kendricks was one of 4 Eagles draft picks that have already signed with the team.

One benefit of the NFL’s new Collective Bargaining Agreement is that draftees are signing contracts much faster than in the past because of the rookie wage scale. As a result, the Philadelphia Eagles have already agreed to terms with a number of their picks already, just ahead of their rookie mini-camp set to begin on Saturday.

Mychal Kendricks, the linebacker that the Eagles selected in the 2nd round of the draft has signed with the Eagles. Also signing are Defensive End Vinny Curry (2nd round), Defensive Tackle Dennis Kelly (5th round) and Wide Receiver Marvin McNutt (6th round).

All deals were 4-year deals.

That leaves the Eagles with Defensive Tackle Fletcher Cox (1st round), Quarterback Nick Foles (3rd), Cornerback Brandon Boykin (4th), Offensive Guard Brandon Washington (6th) and Running Back Bryce Brown (7th) still unsigned.

All rookies, signed or not are expected to attend the rookie mini-camp. Negotiations are expected to be on-going with the remaining players, and all are expected to sign.

Players all across the NFL are signing quicker, avoiding situations like the Eagles had last year with 1st round pick Danny Watkins.

Many believe this to be one of the most promising draft classes the Eagles have had in years.
