The Eagles will be making some additions to the teams honor roll on Sunday that would also look pretty good on the field.
Former defensive coordinator Jim Johnson and cornerback Eric Allen will be inducted into the teams Honor Roll this weekend at half time against the Dallas Cowboys. Other former Eagles to be inducted are Chuck Bednarik, Jerome Brown, Ron Jaworski, Randall Cunningham and Reggie White.
Considered by some to be the best defensive coordinator to ever coach with the Eagles, Johnson roamed the sideline for 10 seasons as the man in charge of the defense. Under Johnsons tutelage, 26 players made the Pro-Bowl. His defensive was the main reason the team was so competitive during their streak of 4 straight NFC Championship losses. Johnson, who passed away in 2009, will be represented by his wife Vicki Johnson.
Eric Allen played with the Eagles for 6 seasons, recording 34 interceptions in that span. That number leaves him tied with Brian Dawkins and Bill Bradley for most in franchise history. He holds the record for most interceptions returned for a touchdown, with 5. Allen was part of the great 1991 Eagles defense that became only the 5th defense in NFL history to rank 1st in fewest total yards allowed, fewest rushing yards allowed and fewest passing yards permitted.
