According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network via Rotoworld.com, the Philadelphia Eagles will likely place the franchise tag on wide receiver DeSean Jackson this offseason.
“He’s someone that you don’t just let walk,” said LaCanfora on NFL Network’s XLVI Live. “Whether he’s going to be there long-term remains to be seen, but you franchise him, then entertain trade possibilities.”
With the way Jackson conducted himself this past season, he’ll need to prove that he’s willing to go all out without a long-term deal in place. That was something that he was obviously not willing to do in 2011, it was clear that he was more worried about getting injured then helping his team win.
