Football is inching closer and closer and millions are ready to start making their NFL picks for the new season.

We know who the two favorites will be for the 2012/13 season.

The Green Bay Packers, fresh off a 15-1 record last year, trot into the new year as the overall favorites. Aaron Rodgers leads the way after throwing an amazing 45 touchdown passes, and with so many key guys returning you've got to like their chances of getting a second Super Bowl trophy in three years.

Of course, you can't talk about favorites without mentioning Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Always a contender, the Patriots will always have a prolific offense as long as Brady's under center. Just look at what he was able to do last season without a deep threat and a formidable running game.

After those two, the parity really shines through as there's a host of other teams who could be holding the Lombardi trophy when everything's said and done.

The Houston Texans, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos are all up there. The Texans and Eagles own two of the best offenses in the league, while the 49ers were about as good of a defensive football team as you'll ever see last year.

As for the Broncos, they'll have Peyton Manning running the show, giving them a legitimate chance to make some noise in the AFC West this season.

Elsewhere, there's the New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers and of course the defending champion New York Giants. It wouldn't be a shock to see any of these teams make a deep run in the playoffs.

Sleeper teams like the Detroit Lions, Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals and the Dallas Cowboys may be worth a look as well.
