SAN DIEGO, CA - OCTOBER 19: Eddie Royal #19 of the Denver Broncos smiles on the sidelines after one of two first half touchdowns against the San Diego Chargers during Monday Night Football on October 19, 2009 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California. (Photo by Donald Miralle/Getty Images)

The Broncos’ locker room ought to be full of gossip tomorrow when the team returns from its bye week to resume practice for the rest of the season.

Not only is Brandon Lloyd available for trade but so is fellow receiver Eddie Royal. Both are eligible for free agency at season’s end. So if you’re keeping score at home, Lloyd, Royal and Kyle Orton have all asked for trades in the past three months. So far, none of them have been dealt.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Lloyd and Royal are excused from Monday’s late-morning practice if they’re not traded by then. Of the two receivers, Royal would seem to have a more prominent buyer-beware tag because he suffered a partially torn groin in the second game of the season against the Cincinnati Bengals and has not played since. Royal did practice Wednesday before the team broke for the break.

Then again, Royal only has roughly $388,000 of salary left to be paid this year. Lloyd has about $902,500 left, which is still great value for a receiver who led the NFL with 1,448 yards last year and continues to make his highlight-special, contortionist catches this year.
