Dallas Cowboys And The NFL:
DALLAS – Strong safety Abram Elam didn’t participate in Saturday’s walkthrough for personal reasons. The funeral for his father, Abram Elam, was this week, and the younger Elam was still mourning and attending to family matters Saturday.
Abram Elam, however, is expected to play in Sunday night’s game against the New York Giants at Cowboys Stadium.
The Cowboys also announced that wide receiver Andre Holmes (hamstring) has been ruled out for the game. Holmes was called up from the practice squad this week after running back Phillip Tanner was placed on injured reserve.
ESPNDallas.com reported that safety/special teams ace Danny McCray is a game-time decision with a high-ankle sprain.
McCray, the team leader in special-teams tackles, is listed as doubtful on the injury report.
BEST OF MAXIM
Both Miles Austin (hamstring) and Laurent Robinson (shoulder) are active for Sunday Night Football vs. New York.
Austin returns after missing the last four games with his hamstring injury. Robinson was deemed fit to play after being considered questionable with his shoulder ailment.
Dallas Cowboys center Phil Costa left Sunday night's game against the New York Giants with a concussion.
Costa was injured in the second half. He will not return.
He was replaced in the lineup by Kevin Kowalski.
