Emmitt Smith is an all time Dallas Cowboys great and has the pulse of everything Dallas.  Smith was a guest on 105.3 KRLD-FM, and was asked about the criticism Cowboys starter Tony Romo gets. Smith as honest as could be, said the criticism of Romo is unfair, and added Romo runs for his life. I don’t think any of it is really fair, especially Tony Romo. Tony Romo is playing behind an offensive line that is not that good. They’re not that good. This kid is running for his life. How can a quarterback get into a nice rhythm when he’s dropping back five steps or six steps and has to move around because somebody’s coming off the edge, and then has to circle back and somebody’s coming off the other edge, and then try to go up the middle and the middle’s already collapsed. I so agree with Smith.  Say what you want about Romo’s late game flame outs, but he spends so much time running for his life or having Jason Garrett put him in positions not to succeed.
