TEAMS: Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills only have one more year left on their stadium lease agreement. The team does however seem to be headed towards extending the contract for the future.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz tells WGRZ that major portions of the lease will be done by training camp and the entire deal should be completed by the end of 2012. With the inevitable disagreements looming, Poloncarz believes that Eric County will not allow the Bills to have every thing they want.

“They (The Bills) want more than I think they know they’re going to get, but we’re not going to give away the store to keep the team here.  We’re going to ensure that this team is economically viable and is kept here for many years. But it’s my goal that the Bills contribute to part of the construction costs associated with the stadium [renovation].  They know that, because they heard that directly from me, and I feel confident that when all is said and done that we’re going to get a lease that is fair for all, and keeps the Buffalo Bills in this community so that they’re the Buffalo Bills, not the Los Angeles Bills.”

Poloncarz called the last round of talks, which were held last week, “very productive”, and says the two sides will meet again next week.

I for one, as a Bills fan, will be elated if the two sides agree on a new lease because that will hopefully lock the Bills into Buffalo for decades to come. If Eric County wants Buffalo to pay for more of the construction costs, than winning will bring the team more money.

Let’s hope that the Buffalo Bills do not become the Los Angeles Bills.

Bills’ Stevie Johnson making horrible music with The Game

I'm all for people chasing their dreams, but I am 100% against this abortion of a song that The Game helped Buffalo Bills' receiver Stevie Johnson record in a studio that obviously is not on a tight budget for time slots that may produce music worth listening to.
