Former NFL wide receiver Jerry Porter tore his Achilles' tendon during training camp this week with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.
Signed to a two-year contract with the Alouettes, Porter last played in the NFL in 2008 with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The 33-year-old Porter signed with Montreal, where he reunited with head coach Marc Trestman. The two originally were linked with the Oakland Raiders, who drafted Porter with a second-round pick.
Porter has recorded 295 catches for 4,120 yards and 31 touchdowns during his career.
