The Eagles nightmarish “Dream Team” season limps to an end Sunday as the Birds host the Redskins. Little besides pride (and possibly Andy Reid’s job) is on the line in the season finale but that isn’t stopping out NBC10 football-picking experts from all backing the Birds to reach .500 and avoid their first losing season since 2005. Eagles win 20-10, reporter Tim Furlong predicted. “Reid spins it as a good finish. Big Red comes back for a 13th season. More frustration -- more of the same -- for the fans next year.” That idea that a win would be hollow was echoed by others as well. “Since it means nothing and the Eagles are on a roll, I’ll say Eagles 31-17,” said social media guy Lou. “This should be an easy pick, but the Eagles do have trouble stopping the run,” said video journalist Rich. “On the other hand Andy does want to finish 8-8 and can usually get his team up for meaningless games so I will stick with the Birds 24-14.” Birds Nest blogger Brian Solomon sees a similar 24-

Report: Reid Will Be Back In 2012

According to a report from Charlie Casserly of CBS Sports, Andy Reid will indeed be back next season as head coach of the Eagles. The report is not shocking, but if correct, does confirm what many people thought was going to be the case. Reid leaving seemed to be the only outcome after the teams loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but after winning 4 straight games, he has appeard to have...

What Will Jeffrey Lurie Have To Say Today? Is Reid’s Job Safe?

Normally Andy Reid meets with the media on the day after the team’s season concludes each year.  He normally meets with the media in between one-on-one exit interviews with his players. If you’ve been around the Eagles football team during the 13 years that Reid has been running things, you know that he is a creature [...]

Don't expect sweeping changes in Philly

Andy Reid made the flashiest moves in the days after the lockout, even if one backfired just as the backup quarterback he signed entered Philadelphia Eagles camp training. Trading quarterback Kevin Kolb to Arizona for cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a pick along with free-agent signings of cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha and defensive end Jason Babin were overshadowed by two...

Andy Reid: “he (Vick) hasn’t had an offseason with us (as a starter)”

It’s a fact that Andy Reid and Marty Mornhinweg have never had the opportunity to work with Michael Vick during the off season with number 7 as the starter.  It seems to be the best argument Reid has for the Eagles keeping him place as the team’s head coach. Reid just finished his 13th season as [...]

Philadelphia Eagles: Could DeSean Jackson Be Franchised and Traded?

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg have both recently heaped praise upon their embattled star receiver DeSean Jackson. The questions for those of us who like to read between the lines are: what is the motivation behind these positive comments, and are they open to bringing Jackson back next season or are they trying to paint a pretty...

Eagles' Mudd plans to coach again next season

Philadelphia Eagles offensive line coach Howard Mudd wants to return, if Andy Reid will have him.

For the Eagles, Offseason Questions Abound – What Happens Now?

So that’s it. It’s over. The season that began with so much promise and potential for the Philadelphia Eagles ended with a “who cares” victory over the division rival Washington Redskins. The Eagles somehow managed to finish 8-8 after a horrendous 1-4 start. If you factor out the horrible 4th quarter collapses against the Falcons, 49ers and all, the Eagles actually went 7...

Report: Andy Reid, Tom Coughlin will keep jobs

Sunday night’s Giants-Cowboys game is a “win and in” scenario for the Giants, but one report claims it’s not a “win or else” scenario for Tom Coughlin. CBS Sports’ Charley Casserly reports that Coughlin will be back with the Giants in 2012 to fulfill the last year of his contract, no matter what happens Sunday night. Giants…
