The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms on a contract extension with running back Jason Snelling. Terms were not disclosed. A 2007 seventh-round pick out of Virginia, the 5-foot-11, 229-pound Snelling has 301 carries for 1,193 yards with seven touchdowns and 108 receptions for 830 yards and five touchdowns out of the backfield during his five-year career with the Falcons. Snelling was a free agent after last year's lockout and made free agent visits to the New York Giants and Kansas City Chiefs before returning to the Falcons on a one-year deal worth $1 million, all of which in the form of base salary. In 15 games, Snelling had 44 carries for 151 yards with 26 receptions for 179 yards and a touchdown as the No. 2 back behind Michael Turner.

Atlanta Falcons running back Jason Snelling signed a three-year deal to remain with the team on Thursday.
Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Snelling, who was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent, rushed 44 times for 151 yards and reeled in 26 receptions for 179 yards in 15 games last season.
Snelling was selected in the seventh round of the 2007 draft by the Falcons.
