When the Atlanta Falcons signed Steven Jackson as a free agent, he provide them with the kind of consistent threat out of the backfield that they were lacking on paper. However, things haven’t quite worked out that way. Jackson missed four games with a hamstring injury and he has picked up 74 yards on 33 carries in the three games since his return. Offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter said Tuesday that he wants to give Jackson the ball more in the coming weeks.

The invention of NFL Sunday Ticket has propelled the National Football League into the spotlight, but has left owners scratching their heads on how to draw solid attendance numbers. Jackson's goals have been dashed with Falcons

Steven Jackson was looking forward to showing what he could do on a winning team, to really making his mark on the national stage. It hasn't worked out as he hoped. Not even close. The 30-year-old Jackson is mired in the worst season on his decade-long career, and any hope he had of carrying the Atlanta Falcons to a Super Bowl title are long gone. ''It has not been...

Falcons lose OT Sam Baker to season-ending injury

The Atlanta Falcons have lost another player for the season, placing offensive tackle Sam Baker on injured reserve. The move announced Tuesday was not a surprise. Melissa Bolona: The Hottest Fan To Wear Atlanta Falcons Gear, Ever.

When we released the first issue of RSVLTS the Magazine with Melissa Bolona (@MelissaBolona) on the cover we had high hopes. She won the 2013 Beach Bunny model search contest  and recently had a shoot with 2011 SI Swimsuit cover model Irina Shayk and likely 2014 SI Swimsuit cover model Nina Agdal in Belize, so it felt like the timing was right. Little did we know how well...

Falcons want Steven Jackson to get more carries

Looking at the box score from Atlanta’s 33-10 loss to Seattle on Sunday it’d be tough to tell who the runningback was that was supposed to propel the Falcon’s offense in to the stratosphere this season. Steven Jackson was expected to add a true rushing threat that the team hadn’t had since Michael Turner was in his prime. Jackson had 11 yards on 9 carries and according to...

Tony Gonzalez misses practice for Falcons

After playing through Sunday’s game with a toe injury, Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez wasn’t sure how the toe would react in the coming days. So far, the signs are not encouraging. ESPN’s Vaughn McClure notes Gonzalez was not able to participate in Wednesday’s team practice. Gonzalez (toe), Malliciah Goodman (calf), Corey Peters (knee), and Jason Snelling (knee) all held...

Falcons want to run Jackson more, not less

Don't expect the Atlanta Falcons to spread the carries around among running backs Steven Jackson, Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling. If anything, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Jackson get even more carries Sunday at Tampa Bay, if the Falcons can avoid falling behind and having to rely on the passing game. Although Jackson managed just 11 yards on nine carries in a...

Dove's NFL Draft Spotlight: Atlanta Falcons

Nobody in Atlanta could’ve predicted such a terrible season from a team that had reached the playoffs in four of the past five seasons. The Atlanta Falcons’ struggles can be attributed to the long list of star players dealing with injuries.
