Takeaways from San Francisco 49ers Week One Win

San Francisco’s last two games at Candlestick Park have been eerily similar. Both against Green Bay, both wins, and both dominated by Colin Kaepernick.  However, unlike the NFC Divisional Round matchup last year when Kaepernick torched the Packers on the ground, today the battle was won in the air.  Kaepernick threw for 412 yards and three touchdowns on route to a 34-28 win. ...

49ers get extra third-down play

The San Francisco 49ers got an extra third-down play in the first half because of an officiating error -- and scored a touchdown on it. Five things: Focus on the offenses

Five things to watch for in Sunday afternoon's regular-season opener between the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers: 1. Can the Packers stop the read-option any better eight months later? It's been the hot topic all week. It's also been the primary defensive talking point in Green Bay since Dom Capers and his group was dismantled by Colin Kaepernick and the San...

2013 NFL Awards

MVP: QB Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay) Rodgers was my highest ranked quarterback in my top-200 and in my fantasy projections and the top quarterback usually wins this award as long as his team makes the playoffs. In his last 45 games, including the playoffs, Rodgers has thrown for 114 touchdowns, 20 interceptions, and 12738 yards. Over 16 games, that’s 41 touchdowns, 7 interceptions...
