SEPTEMBER 8 — A fan fell from an elevated pedestrian walkway and died at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park just after kickoff of the 49ers and Packers game.
San Francisco police spokesman Gordon Shyy says multiple people witnessed the man’s fall onto a sidewalk from the Jamestown walkway, which goes around Candlestick.
The fan appeared to be intoxicated when he fell at 1:30 pm PT according to reports. Medics and police officers game the man aid until an ambulance arrived but he was later declared dead.
His identity is being withheld until the medical examiner notifies his family.

San Francisco’s last two games at Candlestick Park have been eerily similar. Both against Green Bay, both wins, and both dominated by Colin Kaepernick. However, unlike the NFC Divisional Round matchup last year when Kaepernick torched the Packers on the ground, today the battle was won in the air. Kaepernick threw for 412 yards and three touchdowns on route to a 34-28 win. ...
The Packers defense did not let Colin Kaepernick rush for 181 yards again. This time the San Francisco 49ers quarterback ended the game with only 22 yards on the ground but still, it didn’t stop him from having another career game against Green Bay. Kaepernick threw for 412 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-28 victory on Sunday. The 412 yards is a career high for the...
San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews’ late hit against Colin Kapernick was a “cheap shot” on his quaterback. “All in all, there were a lot of things going on in
The Green Bay Packers anticipate Morgan Burnett to play against the San Francisco 49ers. According to Marc Sessler of NFL.com, the team's starting safety is expected to play.
The San Francisco 49ers got an extra third-down play in the first half because of an officiating error -- and scored a touchdown on it.
After a third-and-6 play at the Green Bay 10-yard line in the second quarter, Colin Kaepernick was hit out of bounds by Clay Matthews. The Green Bay linebacker drew a personal foul penalty, but so did 49ers tackle Joe Staley for unsportsmanlike...

Five things to watch for in Sunday afternoon's regular-season opener between the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers:
1. Can the Packers stop the read-option any better eight months later?
It's been the hot topic all week. It's also been the primary defensive talking point in Green Bay since Dom Capers and his group was dismantled by Colin Kaepernick and the San...
Five things we learned from the Green Bay Packers' 34-28 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1 of the 2013 regular season:
1. 49ers are just a better team than the Packers right now
Let's start with the most obvious takeaway from this game: The 49ers are better than the Packers right now. This was true last season, as well, so it shouldn't be too surprising to those...
Anquan Boldin's sensational San Francisco debut helped keep the 49ers on quite a roll against Green Bay. And Vernon Davis did his part in a prolific passing game led by Colin Kaepernick in a 34-28 victory over the Packers on Sunday.
Jim Harbaugh offered a parting shot at Packers linebacker Clay Matthews: Slapping is not the tough-guy way.
Harbaugh says Matthews threw one punch and slapped 49ers left tackle Joe Staley when they tussled following Matthews' late hit on quarterback Colin Kaepernick in the second quarter of San Francisco's 34-28 season-opening win against Green Bay on Sunday.
MVP: QB Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay)
Rodgers was my highest ranked quarterback in my top-200 and in my fantasy projections and the top quarterback usually wins this award as long as his team makes the playoffs. In his last 45 games, including the playoffs, Rodgers has thrown for 114 touchdowns, 20 interceptions, and 12738 yards. Over 16 games, that’s 41 touchdowns, 7 interceptions...
The 49ers kick off their defense of the NFC Championship Sunday with a tough test against the explosive Green Bay Packers. Inside we break down key matchups to watch aside from Colin Kaepernick and the read-option against Green Bay's defense.
The Packers lost a game in which they led in the 4th quarter against the defending NFC Champions and Vegas favorites to win the conference by less than a touchdown, on the road, on Sunday. That is an incontrovertible fact. You can tell me that the sky is falling, you can tell me that the team will never win another Super Bowl until Dom Capers is fired, and you can tell me that...
