Free agency is awesome. I love looking at a list of impending free agents and trying to figure out where they’re going to end up. Earlier this week, Member Corner writer Kevin Merlet gave you some best and worst case free agency scenarios. Continuing that thought, I want to take a look at two key fantasy contributors from the last five years whose values appear to be heading in opposite directions.
Michael Turner, RB FA
It was mere hours after the Falcons’ loss to the 49ers that rumors were spreading that Michael Turner had played his last down as a Falcon. Once his cap number went from $5.5 million to $6.9 million after hitting escalators, it was pretty much “when,” not “if” he was going to be cut.
Turner looked gassed last year and has too many miles on the ol’ tires. He averaged just 3.6 yards per carry while rushing for just 803 yards, but he did score ten touchdowns. During his five year tenure in Atlanta, he scored 60 rushing touchdowns (the most over that span by any running ...
BEST OF MAXIM
The Atlanta Falcons unofficially kicked off the free agency period by releasing what some would consider three of their best players. The three players were defensive end John Abraham, who had been with the team since 2006; running back Michael Turner, who had been with the team since 2008; and cornerback Dunta Robinson, who had been with the team since 2010.While the Falcons had...
With news that the San Francisco 49ers are eyeing the services of current Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Atlanta Falcons may also be in mix.
While the Jets deny that they're shopping Revis, a source "He's gone... This is happening. They're moving him. They can't keep him. They're rebuilding. They...
Joel Corry of the National Football Post mentioned that Matt Ryan‘s next contract could not only best Joe Flacco‘s recent six-year $120.6 million contract extension, but could come close to the $140 million mark.
“He should average at least $21 million, $22 million or $23 million,” said Corry, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Corry mentioned that Ryan’s contract...
Where will the current Jet and self proclaimed ‘best corner in the league‘ wind up going in 2013?
NFL.com is reporting that the Atlanta Falcons are not interested in picking up Revis. NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport said on Wednesday’s ‘NFL Total Access’ that neither the Falcons nor the 49ers are making a move for Revis’ services, despite earlier reports.
The Falcons are...
During each NFL offseason, there is one player whose contract and/or playing status dominates the conversation.
This year that name is obviously Darrelle Revis.

The post Report: Darrelle Revis trade rumors now linked to Atlanta Falcons appeared first on Players View.
The Falcons made their first roster move since they cut ties with the trio of Dunta Robinson, John Abraham and Michael Turner as they resigned restricted free agent Antone Smith.
Smith is a 5'9", 190 pound running back that mainly plays on special teams. Not exactly a sexy signing but it is nice to see a familiar name inked to return...
The deadline for using the franchise tag has come and gone. Eight NFL teams used the franchise tag but unlike last year when we tagged Brent Grimes, the Falcons did not use the tag this season.
The most likely candidate for the franchise tag was safety William Moore. The Buffalo Bills tagged safety Jarius Byrd for $6.916 million. That's the price tag that would have...
Well, this is interesting to say the least. The word from the New York Daily Press is that the Jets will trade all-pro Derrelle Revis. How does this affect the Atlanta Falcons?
Well, it would appear that the top two trade partners are the Atlanta Falcons and the San Francisco 49rs. Both of these teams have expressed interest to the Jets, and the trade...
The New York Daily News mentioned the Atlanta Falcons as a team that is interested in trading for Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis.
According to Mike Freeman of CBS Sports, the Falcons aren’t serious about trading for Revis right now.
I’m told Falcons are not seriously in Revis trade talks. At least for now.
