Once his cap number went from $5.5 million to $6.9 million after hitting escalators, it was pretty much “when,” not “if” he was going to be cut. Turner looked gassed last year and has too many miles on the ol’ tires. He averaged just 3.6 yards per carry while rushing for just 803 yards, but he did score ten touchdowns. During his five year tenure in Atlanta, he scored 60 rushing touchdowns (the most over that span by any running ...

Falcons Resign Antone Smith

The Falcons made their first roster move since they cut ties with the trio of Dunta Robinson, John Abraham and Michael Turner as they resigned restricted free agent Antone Smith. {gallery}myfolder{/gallery}   Smith is a 5'9", 190 pound running back that mainly plays on special teams. Not exactly a sexy signing but it is nice to see a familiar name inked to return...

Falcons Don't Use Franchise Tag

The deadline for using the franchise tag has come and gone. Eight NFL teams used the franchise tag but unlike last year when we tagged Brent Grimes, the Falcons did not use the tag this season. The most likely candidate for the franchise tag was safety William Moore. The Buffalo Bills tagged safety Jarius Byrd for $6.916 million. That's the price tag that would have...
