FF Locker Room:
Fantasy Football News - Popular fantasy tight end, Brandon Pettigrew, was not at practice Thursday marking the second straight day he has missed. Pettigrew suffered a leg injury in the week 14 loss to the Packers. At this point it is time to look for an alternative for week 15 if you were counting on Pettigrew for your playoff roster.
FFLockerRoom Take - This is a big blow to Pettigrew owners but I argue that it helps absolutely everyone else on the Detroit Lions roster. Pettigrew had been terrible this year, dropping passes, fumbling passes and all out not hustling! Ok so maybe that last part was a bit harsh. But I’m a Lions fan and I can’t help it. I think Pettigrew not being there helps Stafford throw it more to guys that can catch the ball. Guys like Calvin Johnson and Tony Scheffler and um… oh yeah, Broyles, Young and Burleson are all on IR. So maybe it’s not great news for Stafford, but at least I don’t have to watch him on the field. Just chuck it up to Megatron more and we s...

Lions' tight end Brandon Pettigrew (57-556) has a high-ankle sprain and is doubtful for Sunday's game. SOURCE: Detroit Free PressFantasy Spin:A high-ankle sprain is usually a four-week injury so Pettigrew could miss the rest of the regular season. Tony Scheffler is a sleeper tight end option for the semi-finals of the fantasy playoffs.
The Lions have not looked great at time this season, they have a great chance to get things straight this week.
With only three weeks left in the season it's time to teams to step-up and secure a playoff spot or start looking forward to next season.
After a rough couple weeks I'm sitting at 132-76, I need to step it up.
Here's a quick look at this weeks games.
The Detroit Lions have had a very disappointing season, after finally reaching the NFL Playoffs last season. A repeat trip to the postseason is not in the cards, but that dos not mean that all is lost in the Motor City. They still have something – or someone – to play for over the final three games of the season.
Calvin Johnson is looking to accomplish something that no other...
One way or another, at least one of the NFL’s three longest losing streaks will come to an end on Sunday.
The Detroit Lions travel to Glendale, AZ, to face the Cardinals on Sunday, and to say these two teams have been slumping is an understatement. The Lions have lost five straight and the Cardinals started out 4-0 but have since fallen to 4-9.
Yes, that’s nine straight losses...
The Detroit Lions have put defensive tackle Corey Williams on injured reserve, ending his season because of an injured right knee.
Detroit signed defensive tackle Andre Fluellen to take Williams' roster spot.
Williams was inactive for a sixth game Sunday at Green Bay. He started in five of seven games this season and made nine tackles. The nine-year veteran had two sacks in...

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The slumping Detroit Lions are rallying around Calvin Johnson, hoping he breaks Jerry Rice's NFL record for yards receiving in a season.
"It's definitely something that I take joy in that my teammates are right behind me on this thing," Johnson said Thursday after catching footballs from a machine in a post-practice...
TEMPE, Ariz. Patrick Peterson is still trying to make a name for himself in the NFL. And the Cardinals' second-year cornerback has no problem lobbying on his own behalf.
When asked Friday about the challenge of facing Detroit Lions star receiver Calvin Johnson, who leads the NFL with 1,546 yards and is chasing Jerry Rices single-season NFL record, Peterson took what some might...
The NFLs Misery Loves Company match-up of the week features the Detroit Lions against the Arizona Cardinals Sunday in Glendale, Ariz.
Here are five storylines to follow:
By Sunday, it will be 42 days since the Lions last victory and a whopping 77 days for the Cardinals.
The Lions, on a five-game losing streak, havent won since Nov. 4, when they defeated Jacksonville to even their...
The Detroit Lions' latest loss included a dubious feat, but even their recent woes don't seem to compare to those of their next opponent.
While the Lions attempt to snap a five-game skid Sunday, the Arizona Cardinals seek to avoid matching the franchise's longest single-season losing streak and bounce back from one of the most lopsided defeats in NFL history.
Detroit Lions (4-9) at Arizona Cardinals (4-9)
One of the most powerful trends is known as the six and six trend. This says that teams that finish 6-10 or worse struggle to cover as favorites of 6 or more, going 23-64 ATS since 2002. The Lions are currently 4-9 and need to win out to finish better than 6-10 and even if they win this week, there’s no way they’ll win out against...
