Lance Moore, WR, New Orleans Saints Player Profile Height/Weight: 5-9/190 Birthdate: 8/31/1983 School: Toledo FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS Lance Moore came out and surprised everybody last year by receiving for 1041 yards on 65 catches for 6 touchdowns. He had an extremely high yards per catch average compared to his usual standard. For his career, he has a 12.4 ypc average, but had 16.0 ypc last year. His second best average in that category came in 2011 with 12.1 ypc. Being only 5’9″, Moore hasn’t really been known as a speedster, although he is fairly fast, but he plays more like a 6’2″ receiver. To put those numbers into perspective, let’s take a look at his 2010 stats. He had one more catch, but much less yards than in 2012 (66/763/8.) He also has never been a yac guy and last year showed that as well, finishing 147th among eligible players in yards after catch. Again, for a small receiver, this is quite strange. Even when he wasn’t catching as many bombs as he was last year, his...

Report: Saints Close To An Agreement With CB Keenan Lewis

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Saints are close to reaching an agreement with free agent CB Keenan Lewis. Schefter adds that a deal could get done today. The Saints have had a very quiet offseason thus far, but you could say the same thing for the cornerback market. NFL teams haven’t been willing to pay for defensive backs, which means there could be a number of bargain...

Saints Nation: Steelers Bloggers Thoughts on Keenan Lewis

It's kind of a random stroke of luck that the Saints landed a former Pittsburgh Steeler player for me because I actually have a good rapport with two very good and smart Steelers bloggers, believe it or not. So naturally I reached out to my two expert sources on Steelers football to get the skinny on the Saints' brand new cornerback. I think you'll really enjoy this feedback...

Saints Nation: Saints Make First Free Agency Splash, Sign CB Keenan Lewis

The first new recruit of the free agency period will indeed be a defensive player as we had all hoped, in the form of a cover corner. The player is Keenan Lewis, who prepped at O.P. Walker and is from New Orleans but went to college at Oregon State, and he will be coming to the Saints on a 5 year $26.3 million contract. Lewis is regarded as one of the top corners on the market and...

Steelers Cornerback Situation Following The Exit Of Keenan Lewis

Now that cornerback Keenan Lewis has moved on to the New Orleans Saints via free agency, it is easy to pin down what the Pittsburgh Steelers secondary will look like in 2013. Cortez Allen, who had two interceptions and three forced fumbles last season, will start opposite Ike Taylor. The Citadel product has progressed very nicely and his conditioning should be top notch being as...

Saints Nation: The State of Saints' Special Teams

Talking about special teams, there really is not much to say about the subject. The special teams unit for the Saints has been pretty good almost every year, covering the entire spectrum from field goals to punting. Last year however, the production dropped slightly. The special teams unit is supposed to set the tone of the game, or change the momentum in favor of their team. The...

I have no idea what this means

This headline is stupid, even for NOLA.com: New Orleans Saints even their record to .500 in first three days of free agency Ignoring the nonsense of the “sign one for a win, lose one for a loss” implied by this headline*, I’m not sure how signing Keenan Lewis and Justin Drescher while losing Chase Daniel, Jermon Bushrod, and Jonathan Casillas equates to a 0.500 record. Hopefully...

Saints sign CB Lewis to 5-year deal

The New Orleans Saints have signed free agent cornerback Keenan Lewis to a five-year contract. The 6-foot-0, 208-pound Lewis is a New Orleans native, playing high school football in the city at O. Perry Walker. The 26-year-old spent his first four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, moving into a starting role last season and leading the NFL with 23 passes defended. Lewis visited...
