Mike Williams, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS
The Buccaneers signing Vincent Jackson was probably the best thing that could happen to Mike Williams. The problem in 2011 was that Williams was being relied upon to be the #1 receiver on the team without much help on the other side of the field. It doesn’t look like he will ever be a #1 receiver, but he is a very solid second option on any team. When Jackson was added to the fold, it took the pressure off Williams and he nearly reached 1000 yards. He ended up totaling 63 catches for 996 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Another problem with Williams a couple years ago was where he was catching the ball. He was catching a lot more underneath routes and he isn’t a particularly good yards after the catch guy, lacking some elusiveness, which reflected in his yards per catch average. In 2010 and 2012, his ypc was around 15, but in 2011, it was a shade unde...

The entire Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization, including the Glazer family, is fully on board with trading for New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis, multiple sources told Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports on Wednesday.
But there's a catch - The team doesn't want to give up their highly coveted first-round pick (13th overall) in next month's NFL draft.

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Michael Bennett said all along that he'd give the team a chance to match any offer from another team, but flip flopped and signed with Seattle without letting the Bucs know.
"They acted like they didn't want me, so no, I didn't go back to them," Bennett told Tampa Tribune reporter Roy Cummings.
"I just didn...

The 2012 season was full of ups and downs for Tampa Bay. Mike Freeman was great at times but then had stretches of futility. The run defense was as good as any in the league, but the pass defense was equally as bad. The team won four in a row and five of six between mid-October and mid-November, but then lost five in a row after that stretch.
Overall, the 7-9 finish in Greg Schiano’s...

Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit junior standout Vincent Jackson is nearing the 30 offer mark, but he doesn't plan on narrowing his list until this summer after he takes a few more visits. Jackson discusses the chances of Notre Dame getting a visit and what position he sees himself playing in college.
Late Friday evening, the Buccaneers signed Green Bay Packers tight end Tom Crabtree. Confirmed via text with @tcrabtree83 that it’s a done deal. He’s a Buccaneer. Hair, mustache make him look a bit like Bucco Bruce. — Jason Wilde (@jasonjwilde) March 16, 2013 While Crabtree won’t light up the statsheet (eight catches, 203 yards, and three touchdowns in 2012), he is...
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have emerged as the favorite to
acquire New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, and the team’s management is
now “fully on board” with a trade involving the All-Pro, according to Jason Cole
of Yahoo! Sports.
Cole notes that, at this point, the holdup is what the Jets
are willing to accept in exchange for Revis. Tampa Bay doesn’t want to
