The Pittsburgh Steelers and Oakland Raiders are both adapting to this new style of NFL.Both teams historically established the runfirst then looked to pass second. With the new way of the NFL which almost seems to be pass first then turn to run, the Steelers and Raiders are both leaning more towards that trend as well.Through two weeks the Raiders have looked terrible, losing to the San Diego Chargers and then getting blown out by the Miami Dolphins. The Steelers have looked much better this season and should come away an easy victory.Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1): Ben Roethlisberger is off to a decent start to the season as he already has 520 yards passing with two touchdowns. A very, very friendly match-up this week, Roethlisberger can be a nice plug n' play.Rashard Mendenhall will still not be in Week 3 action. Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman split carries too much to be trusted as a good start.Antonio Brown, last season's team MVP, is looking to repeat that again this year and...

Roethlisberger a master on 3rd downs, but how long can it last?

If there’s one thing that an offense hates, other than turnovers, it’s 3rd and long. You make yourself much more predictable to the defense and let’s face it, most teams don’t have many 3rd and 20 plays in their offensive game plan. The Steelers have been making a living out of converting large down and distance situations through the first 2 weeks of the season, but how...

The curious case of Heyward-Bey

Darrius Heyward-Bey, the much maligned 7th overall pick from 2009 has been a conundrum for most of his 3 years in the Silver & Black. A likely first or high second round pick in 2009 even had Davis not reached for him with a top 10 selection, would likely still be a disappointment even if falling into the early second round based solely upon his numbers. Heyward-Bey has struggled...
