The Detroit Lions host the Green Bay Packers in the traditional Thanksgiving Day NFL game on FOX Sports. The Lions surprised many in the football world with their fast start to the 2011 season. But wins over Tampa Bay and Dallas have many taking note and Detroit looks like a legitimate playoff contender. The Lions turnaround has coincided with the development of quarterback Matthew Stafford, who averages more than 300 yards passing and dishes the ball to a wide array of receivers, tops among them Calvin Johnson. Detroit's defense also has seen dramatic improvement and the addition of the defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has energized what was already a strong core of players. As for Green Bay, they don't seem to have slowed down one bit since their Super Bowl win over Pittsburgh last year with quarterback Aaron Rodgers making a case for MVP of the league. Tune in for this special Thursday edition of the NFL on FOX and feast on what should be a tasty treat.
