Dallas Cowboys And The NFL:
IRVING - Film study was the key to nose tackle Jay Ratliff blocking a 53-yard field goal attempt in the fourth quarter Sunday.
Ratliff said video of the Chiefs games showed that long snapper Thomas Gafford was slow to raise up after releasing the ball.
With that in mind, the Cowboys coaching staff instructed Ratliff to leap over Gafford. Ratliff did just that after Gafford snapped the ball with 3:15 left and the score tied 13-13.
"It was a game-changing play," Wade Phillips said.
