Michael Vick will be listed as the team’s emergency quarterback when the Philadelphia Eagles host the Atlanta Falcons this afternoon. Mike Kafka will back up Kevin Kolb, so don’t expect to see Vick get into today’s big game between the battle of the birds for NFC supremacy.
The question remains whether or not Kolb will try and finally open up the field and throw a few deep balls, or if he will simply be looking for more check downs to Brent Celek and Lesean McCoy. If he is able to open it up and spread the field with Desean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin, then the Falcons could have some difficulty stopping them.
Making matters worse is the fact that I absolutely do not see Sean Weatherspoon playing in this game. Stephen Nicholas is a great replacement at linebacker, but it could still mean more holes in the middle of the field for McCoy and Celek.
The Falcons need Michael Turner to get things going on the ground to open up the passing game for Matt Ryan and company. Ro...
