Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, rookie return specialist Patrick Peterson and strong safety Adrian Wilson were selected to play for the NFC in the 2012 Pro Bowl.
Fitzgerald and Wilson were both voted in as starters for the fourth time in their careers. It is the sixth overall selection for Fitzgerald (fifth consecutive) and fifth overall selection for Wilson (fourth consecutive). Peterson, meanwhile, is the first Cardinals rookie to be selected for the Pro Bowl since Anquan Boldin in 2003 and the 12th rookie overall.
Defensive tackle Darnell Dockett was selected as analternate.
Fitzgerald enters the season finale with 71 receptions for 1,262 yards and eight touchdowns. He is averaging a career-best 17.8 yards per catch. During the season, he became the franchise's all-time leader in career receiving yards (9,466) touchdowns (73) and 100-yard games (31). He is the first Cardinal to be selected for five consecutive Pro Bowls since defensive back Aeneas Williams (1994-...
