And I'm not just talking about facing Falcons edge rusher John Abraham, who has 3.5 sacks and 22 in his last 22 games. If the Cowboys are going to live up to their offensive potential, Adams has to be more disciplined. The offensive line is responsible for 15 of the Cowboys' 37 penalties, and Adams has seven flags, including four for false starts. Naturally, the Cowboys want Adams to protect Tony Romo, but they can't afford Adams getting flagged in the red zone or, say, on a crucial third or fourth down anywhere on the field. Staying disciplined won't be easy, though, knowing that the Falcons are 15-5 when Abraham has a multi-sack game. In other words, Adams will want to get a jump to position himself to re-direct Abraham. Since 2000, only Miami's Jason Taylor (107.5) has had more sacks than Abraham's 87.5.
