Nick Folk celebrates 50 yard game winner
So the win has settled in on my brain, after all the craziness that we now know as Week 1 of the NFL season. The Jets beat the Cowboys on the 10th anniversary of September 11th, in the strangest of fashions. It’s time to get down to a little game analysis.
Bye Bye Ground ‘n Pound?: Ground and Pound was the staple of the New York Jets offense for the first two years of Rex Ryan’s tenure. This was partly because we had a terribley inexperienced QB in Mark Sanchez and partly because we had a great offensive line that could plow holes for Thomas Jones, LT, and Shonn Greene. However, after last nights game, I might venture to say the days of Ground ‘n Pound are behind the Jets. Why you ask? Because our offensive line isn’t as good as it once was with Alan Faneca and Damien Woody.. and because Mark Sanchez no longer sucks. Which leads me to my next point.
