Denver Post:
Broncos guard Stanley Daniels let out a very loud sigh-slash-groan as he walked out of the doors headed to practice Thursday morning.
He looked at me and I told him to cheer up because it was the last day of training camp.
“That’s news to us,” Daniels said as he left to join his teammates.
Though the Broncos released its training camp schedule last month with the end date of Aug. 19, Broncos coaches weren’t telling their players when camp was over. Today was originally scheduled to be a two-a-day, but the second practice has been scrapped in favor of a light walk-through that is closed to the media and the public. (We have seen our last full practice until next August.)
Coach Josh McDaniels said he was waiting until later Thursday to tell players that training camp was over.
And though players will soon be allowed to check out of the hotel and return to their own homes, coach Josh McDaniels is trying to make it clear to them that camp isn’t really over....
