EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - SEPTEMBER 02: Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots celebrate after teaming up for a first quarter touchdown against the New York Giants on September 2, 2010 at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. (Photo by Jim McIsaac/Getty Images)

The Boston Herald has comfirmed that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will have his 4th surgery Monday to replace the metal plate currently in his left forearm. A persistent infection plagued Gronk as he recovered from the injury suffered last season, and now that the infection is gone, doctors feel it's the right time to go back in. It's been a tough week for the mercurial TE, who also made news when it was revealed he may need back surgery as well. Also a report that he and fellow Patriot Julian Edelman were set to take a trip to Las Vegas for a little partying didn't sit well with fans and most likely the front office. A company called Jumpseat.me was offering 4 seats on their private jet to join them. That trip, thank goodness was cancelled. So Gronkowsi stayed in the are and joined his teammates, coaches and cheerleaders for a "Football for You" free youth clinic in Newtown, Conn. File under: time well spent.
