Former Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonvile Jaguars wide receiver Jordan Shipley has retired, CBSSports reported.Shipley was drafted out of Texas in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft.  In two seasons in Cincinnati, Shipley totaled 56 catches for over 600 yards and three touchdowns.Image via Wikimedia CommonsWithout a doubt, his best game as a pro came against the Atlanta Falcons his rookie season, when he hauled in six catches for 131 yards. He battled injuries throughout his career.  A hit by Browns' safety T.J. Ward left him with a concussion that forced him to miss a game in 2010.  In 2011, he tore his medial collateral ligament and anterior cruciate ligament against the Denver Broncos in week two. Those two injuries, the selection of A.J. Green and the emergence of Andrew Hawkins caused Shipley to be released by the Bengals in 2012.At the time of his release, Shipley said "I am honestly not sure what (the Bengals') thought process was."Tampa Bay picked him up, and after an injury to Preston Parker, he played in six games for the team, totaling two more touchdowns.  The Bucs released him after a fumbled punt return, after which he signed with the Jaguars.  Jacksonville released him on Sept. 1, 2013.Shipley's post NFL career is already in full swing, however.  He apparently is joining the Outdoor Channel as the "occasional" host of a pair of hunting shows.

Are any Cincinnati Bengals involved in the 10 biggest NFL Combine storylines ever?

For the most part, the NFL’s annual Scouting Combine is a snoozer. It’s a bunch of wannabe pro football players running around in shorts, doing silly drills that have nothing to do with playing the sport. But every once in a while, there’s a break in the monotony. On rare occasions, those who are forced to watch the drudgery of shuttle drills, bench press reps and 40-yard dashes...

Boring Bengals content getting back to work

INDIANAPOLIS -- So much has changed for the Bengals since they lost to San Diego in the playoffs. Yet one thing hasn't. Bengals, Andy Dalton to work on extension

The Cincinnati Bengals were unable to make noise in the playoffs last season, and Andy Dalton once again faltered under the spotlight. Many analysts and fans don’t believe that Dalton has what it takes to be a legitimate franchise quarterback, but that doesn’t appear to be the way that the Bengals look at things. Head coach Marvin Lewis said that the Bengals will not consider...

Bengals, Dalton to talk extension

At the NFL Scouting Combine, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said that quarterback and wide receiver are the two positions that will not receive any consideration for the team’s first round draft pick. That is a nice vote of confidence for Andy Dalton, who is still seeking his first playoff victory for the Bengals. But actions speak louder than words, so it appears...

Cincinnati Bengals, Andy Dalton to talk contract

Andy Dalton has been holding the Cincinnati Bengals offense back in the playoffs for three straight years. But there's no reason to expect a different quarterback in Cincinnati anytime soon. Marvin Lewis on losing both coordinators: 'It's a strain'

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis knew he'd likely eventually have to replace his coordinators.
