We've all heard about online dating. You enter your profile into some web site, it gets thrown into a database and some crazy algorithm tries to produce your perfect match. What about online friendship? Antonio Brown, a second year wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, found a new pal online while visiting Indianapolis during Super Bowl week. And no algorithm was necessary.
The former Central Michigan star (@AntonioBrown84) used Twitter to announce that he was in Indianapolis for the Super Bowl festivities. Seth Paladin (@sdpaladin), a Steelers fan living in Indy, tweeted back to Brown inviting him to lunch.
Per CNBC's Darren Rovell, that's where the friendship took off in a hurry. Brown and Paladin exchange phone numbers through direct messages over Twitter. The two guys met at a local gym where Brown shared his workout routine with Paladin.
