As we reported earlier, the New York Giants had former Seahawks and Raiders linebacker Aaron Curry in for a visit, and he apparently stuck around to sign a one-year deal with the team on Friday. The move is seen as pretty low risk for the Giants, and GM Jerry Reese, is sincerely hoping Curry can “reinvent himself’’ after a pretty disappointing NFL career so far. Curry was Seattle's first round draft stud, selected No. 4th overall, but soon obtained dud status almost in a blink fo an eye. Two years was enough for the Seahawks, who shipped him off to the Oakland Raiders in 2011. His knees are a continuing problem in a career that has only seen 5 1/2 sacks and 190 tackles in 48 games. “I think that has been part of the problem, he’s had some knee injuries that hampered him a little bit,’’ Reese said, via the New York Post. “He’s a very mature guy and he’s looking forward to the opportunity.’’ “He hasn’t done a lot of cardio, he’s been rehabbing from a knee injury,’’ Reese added . “But he’s in pretty good shape, he did a nice workout for us and hopefully he can step in and create some competition at that position.’’
